Elisa Herrman, D.M.D., M.S.
Background
Dr. Herrman grew up on a family farm in Southwest Michigan, where her family still grows corn and soybeans. She attended the University of Notre Dame for her undergraduate studies. After graduating, Dr. Herrman pursued her dental training at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon. She was admitted to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a National Dental Honor Society.
For her specialty training, Dr. Herrman completed the orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. This intensive three-year, hospital-based program provided advanced clinical training and interdisciplinary experience across dental and medical specialties. During her residency, Dr. Herrman was an active member of the cleft and craniofacial team, regularly participating in Mayo’s craniofacial clinic to provide coordinated care for children with complex craniofacial conditions. This comprehensive training prepared her to deliver the full spectrum of orthodontic care, from simple alignment concerns to complex surgical and bite correction cases, with expertise and precision.
Dr. Herrman is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. She has authored and co-authored multiple scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.
