Joseph Restic, D.M.D.
Background
Dr. Restic received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1979. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1985, where he was inducted into the Matthew Cryer Honor Society as well as Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a National Dental Honor Society. He completed the Orthodontic Residency Program at the Oregon Health & Science University in 1988.
While at Notre Dame, Dr. Restic won the John W. McMullin Award for the Outstanding Monogram Athlete and the Brian V. Kanaley Award for the Outstanding Senior Student Athlete. At the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Restic was able to combine his dental studies with a career in professional football, playing three years in the USFL. He played for the Boston, New Orleans, and Portland Breakers. Following the 1985 season in Portland, Dr. Restic enrolled in the Orthodontic Post Graduate Program at the Oregon Health & Science University.
At the start of his career, Dr. Restic spent three years in the Boston area, practicing orthodontics and coaching football with his father, Joe Sr., who was the Head Football Coach at Harvard University. Ultimately, based on his time in the Portland area, Dr. Restic decided to return to Oregon to achieve the best combination of lifestyle and work environment. He opened his orthodontic practice in Wilsonville in June of 1991.

Football History
At Notre Dame, Dr. Restic was a starting defensive back and punter for the 1977 National Championship Football Team.
During his college career, he was fortunate to play in the Gator Bowl, two Cotton Bowls, the East-West Shrine Game, and the Japan Bowl, a collegiate All-Star Game played in Tokyo, Japan.
In the summer of 2009, Dr. Restic returned to the gridiron and joined a group of Notre Dame Football Alumni in a game against a Japanese All-Star Team. The game was played in Tokyo, and the Notre Dame team was coached by the legendary Lou Holtz.

Personal Life
Dr. Restic is married to his wife, Susan, and they have two children, Brittany and Eric. Brittany graduated from the Notre Dame in 2018 and is working on the island of O’ahu. Eric graduated from Notre Dame in 2020 and is living and working in California.
